Name: Jeremy Williams
Dreams Come True welcomed Jeremy Williams of Milkmedia as one of our first Charity Champions, in recognition of his fundraising efforts and tireless support for the charity.
Jeremy is founder and managing director of Value Initiatives, whose Milkmedia brand sells advertising space on the sides of milk cartons. Launched in 2001, milk carton advertising is now a common sight on supermarket shelves, and has rapidly become a marketing medium to rival TV, press and radio.
In September Jeremy, with help and support from RM Cycles of Tenterden in Kent (also a supporter of Dreams Come True), organised for a team of cyclists of all ages and abilities to take part in a charity cycle ride from London to Brighton. All were riding in aid of Dreams Come True. Together they raised more than £3,500, as well as completing the gruelling 54-mile course in just over three hours!
Jeremy offers his time and expertise to Dreams Come True on a regular basis, advising on marketing initiatives, helping the charity to identify potential donors and PR opportunities, and by introducing new contacts, supporters and fundraisers.
Jeremy says, "I can think of few causes more worthwhile than helping terminally and seriously ill children cope, and giving them something pleasant to look forward to. I've met many such kids now, and they are unbelievably brave. It's a privilege to get to know them, and an honour to be recognised for what otherwise feels like a modest contribution. Helping Dreams Come True is something everyone at Milkmedia is committed to."
