These biscuits are absolutely essential at every child's birthday party. And it is not just the children who adore them – the father of one of my children's friends insists on coming to all our parties, and once even took some chocolate crispies home with him – apparently it was his party bag.
Ingredients: Makes about 24 bite-sized crispies or 12 larger ones
110g unsalted butter
110g caster sugar
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp syrup
1 tbsp milk
You will also need
- Paper cases of the size you wish to make
- Put the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, syrup and milk in a large pan over a lowheat and stir until completely melted. Do not let the mixture boil.
- Using a wooden spoon, mix in the cornflakes a little at a time, making sure they are evenly coated before adding more.
- Put your paper cases into 12-hole muffin tins and use a teaspoon to carefully fill each one with the mixture. Chill overnight. Remove from the fridge just before eating.
If there are any left over (highly unlikely), store them in a sealed container in the fridge. Great for midnight feasts.
