John is very proud to be a Dreams Come True Ambassador.  He has an extremely empathetic, caring nature and relates effortlessly to people from all walks of life and age groups and this lends itself readily and effectively to his role as a parent advisor.

John is in a unique position because he has seen first-hand the power a dream can have on a child. John’s daughter, Vicky, is 21 and has Down’s Syndrome and Pulmonary Hypertension and her ultimate dream was to see an active volcano, Dreams Come True were delighted to make her dream a reality and flew her to Hawaii to fly over one of the world’s most active volcanos by helicopter.

John said, the trip of a lifetime broadened Vicky’s horizons and boosted her confidence, since the trip she has had work-experience as Virgin cabin-crew, another of her dreams, which has been fulfilled. Her remaining wishes are to be a chimney sweep and a detective!

“I want to be involved in Dreams Come True because this is pay-back, this is a way I can thank Dreams Come True who helped Vicky fulfil her dream. What the charity does is amazing, I have seen first-hand the power a dream can have on a child.”

John is incredibly proud of Vicky and he has a rare combination of personal and technical skills as well as being very amenable with a warm personality. He is highly motivated and is well regarded in all the roles he undertakes and prides himself on providing the traditional values of good morals, respect and reliability.

He co-founded and successfully managed his own employment agency business for 13 years and has experience of driving a school minibus for up to 16 vulnerable special needs students. He has also chaired a Parent/Teacher Association and has working knowledge of Child Protection Act, especially in relation to vulnerable children & young adults.

When he is not working John enjoys family outings, travel, theatre, socialising, cars, football, and D.I.Y.

John treasures every moment he has with Vicky and if he could give one message to parents it would be: “Spend more time with your child as time is precious.”
