I became a trustee of Dreams Come True in August 2014 and am the current chair of the Board.
I am happily retired after a career that was mostly spent in the airline and financial services businesses. I started out as a Management Trainee at British Airways and after ten years moved to the City and worked for a variety of Retail and Investment Banks. A great deal of my time has been spent in HR Director positions although I have held other positions and developed a specialism in managing large change programmes such as new business start-ups or mergers and acquisitions.
I joined Dreams Come True having had some experience in working with charities. In the past I was on the Board of The Berkshire Blind Society and for some years chaired The Ways and Means Trust, a local mental health charity. I was also a trustee of a large greyhound rescue charity.
Outside of work my main passion is travel which I try to combine with my love of history. My wife Elizabeth and I spend as much time as we can ticking off the places on our bucket list. My other interests include my membership of Middlesex Cricket Club and following Reading FC where I have been a season ticket holder and supporter for over forty years. We also own two dogs which I endeavour to walk several miles every day in an attempt to keep both them and me in reasonable shape!!
At Dreams Come True I work closely with our Chief Executive to ensure we have the financial and organisational capability to deliver high quality bespoke dreams to as many families as possible. Take a look at some of the dream stories on the website and it will become very clear why we are all so committed to what we do!
