In 2003, Bryan Hackworth, who was 15 at the time, fulfilled his dream to see the Toronto Maple Leafs ice hockey team play a home game.
The experience changed his life and Bryan now dreams of representing Great Britain as a Paralympic Sledge Hockey player in South Korea 2018.
Lucy is an inspirational young woman whose dream we are currently working to fulfil. Despite being seriously ill herself she works with a number of charities to help others in similar situations and has even spoken in parliament. She has a very special relationship with her dog Molly and together they won the 'Friends for life' award at Crufts. Here is her story...
After explaining to Ethan that Dreams Come True had provided the iBex for him he started to cry. Andrea asked him why he was crying and he replied: "I just cannot believe that someone would be so kind to get me an iBex for Bee....I’m crying because I am so so happy.....how do I say thank you to them?"
When you lose a child, you initially feel absolutely lonely and are filled with deep regret and emptiness; and although these awful feelings do come to the surface on and off over the years when you are close to a special anniversary or just having a bad day, they do fade and become less painful over time, and then those precious memories come flooding back of all those happy times and the love you shared.
As Luke said, “It was brilliant. I loved meeting the team and we were even shown the section that the Queen sits in. And we met the band, The Vamps. The Saracens were winning for most of it, but unfortunately lost by 1 point in the end. It was great though and I will never forget this.”
