Shona is 21, has epilepsy and dreams of being an actress. Shona wrote to us to ask if we could arrange for her to meet panto stars Grant Stott, Andy Gray and Allan Stewart. The three have been playing panto together at the Kings Theatre for the last 16 years and Shona’s Mum has taken Shona to every show. She is also a member of the Edinburgh Dance Academy and one of her pals from the Academy is a dancer in the show.
Shona and Mum Linda attended a jam-packed performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in the Kings Theatre in Edinburgh. They joined in all the fun of the hissing and booing in what was a spectacular show.
After the pantomime, Shona got to meet and chat to the three stars of the show. After meeting the three stars and receiving signed autographs and on-stage pictures, Shona was given a guided tour by Grant of the stage area and behind the scenes including the giant hydraulic sleigh and dinosaur which feature in the show! Then Grant spent a great deal of time answering all Shona’s questions as well as providing real insight into his career and what it takes to get into acting.
As they were leaving, Shona and her mum mentioned that they have tickets to see another of the gang’s performances in March and Grant told them to come and see them after the show!
I thought, OMG, I'm actually with Grant Stott is this reality or another universe?! I had such an amazing time, like my mom said, a minute with them and my dreams came true. Thanks so much to Dreams Come True; everyone is so friendly and caring and can really make impossible dreams come true.
Love dreams come true forever, Shona xxxxx
Linda: ‘Shona was over the moon! Grant Stott was such an easy-going person, a really nice guy - he gave Shona a cuddle. Shona is normally quite shy but she came out of her shell really fast and was chatting away in no time.’
