4-year-old Ella from County Durham has autism, a lifelong developmental condition that impacts daily on the life of her and her family. She shows little interest in her peers, has challenging behaviour and struggles to regulate her emotions, but despite this she is a happy little girl who is most content when doing her own thing.
Ella’s dream was to have a fairy tale castle just like the princesses she adores and thanks to the help of a local carpenter, Ella now has a pink ‘two storey castle’ of her own where she can be a princess too.
Ella’s social interaction and communication difficulties mean she has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. This is a lifelong developmental condition with 3 main areas of difficulty which are social communication, social interaction and restricted interests/repetitive behaviours.
Dreams Come True were able to order the playhouse that Ella wanted – a two storey ‘castle’ which Michael, a local carpenter built for her with Ella supervising of course. Ella’s dad painted it in her favourite colour, pink.
“Ella would like her own “castle” just like the princesses she adores. We have sourced suppliers however they are very much out of our price range. Ell would love this space to keep her sensory toys in there. “ Nicola, Ella’s mum
