It’s not every day we fulfil a dream for three siblings with the same rare condition. Callum (15), Jack (14) and Maycee (5) all carry a life-limiting gene mutation with no cure. The condition largely affects the nervous system, eyesight, memory and balance and all three rely on wheelchairs. Depression is also common with their condition and Jack has been living with a low mood for some time.
The diagnosis has been devastating for the family and every moment is very precious. Their request was simple - they wanted a family holiday in Orlando so that they could experience all the theme parks and create some amazing memories.
Mum, Lisa wrote us afterwards to explain what the holiday meant to them “Right from the start, it was brilliant and you made it all so stress free for us. It really was what dreams are made of - the best time of our life.
The hotel was great, wheelchair friendly and the staff in the hotel were lovely. We would come back everyday from the parks to a lovely clean room so we could just relax.
Every single park was just truly fabulous, the smiles on all of our faces just said it all really. We didn’t want it to end because it tucked us away from reality for ten days. Even the build up gave us all something good to focus on instead of day-to-day life of hospitals.
We can’t say thank you enough. Dreams Come True is one amazing charity that will stay close to our hearts forever.”
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US TO FULFIL THIS AMAZING FAMILY DREAM
Thanks to your support, we were able to send three siblings with the same life-limiting condition to Orlando.
This was a much-needed break for a family and the chance for to make precious memories.
When the future is uncertain, nothing matters more.
