Hopes and Dreams Ball raises money for Dreams

Hopes and Dreams charity event brings glamour to the Alton Maltings.

Talented and energetic local Mum Sally Powell created another fantastic night out for 156 guests at the Maltings Centre in Alton last Saturday.  With the help and sponsorship from many local businesses, she put together her third Hopes and Dreams Ball - a night packed with sparkle when the locals dressed to impress to help raise funds for local children’s charity Dreams Come True.

Main sponsors Homes Estate Agents were present and local companies Bluebird Care Alton & Alresford, Lailey Recycling Skip Hire, Specsavers Alton, Howdens, 6A Vision Homes and Metrobank generously funded different elements of the evening.

Sally’s friends and family played a huge part with husband Andrew hosting the evening and acting as auctioneer for the fundraising auction.  Guests enjoyed a fabulous evening with a three course dinner, musical entertainment by the Singing Waiters and local talent “The Soultanas” before dancing to DJ Francis until midnight.

Sally said “ I really enjoy fundraising, and it’s overwhelming how generous everyone has been. I’ve had a lot of help and I’d like to thank everyone involved, especially Kelly and Darren Searle and Dawn and Piers Collins, for their hard work helping me create another successful event to help make dreams come true for seriously ill children.”

Sally loves creating events like this through her company “Brightbox Ventures” and is delighted to have raised £11,500 for Dreams Come True in just one night.  She and Andrew have pledged to raise £50,000 for Dreams Come True and they are now very close to their target.  More glamorous fundraising events are planned at the Maltings for 2018, and with Sally’s energy behind them we’re sure they will be a great success, make sure you get a ticket.
