Our volunteers raise awareness of, and access to, our work.
Dreams Come True is thrilled to have been granted £9,850 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All – Scotland programme, to grow our Volunteer Dreams Network in Scotland.
This grant will both enhance our volunteers’ skills and life chances, and will mean we are able to make the dreams of more Scottish children and young people come true.
Our volunteers come from many different places and backgrounds, and include people with serious and life-limiting conditions who have directly benefited from the work of Dreams Come True. The grant from Big Lottery will:
- Enable us to provide training and support to 100 volunteers in Scotland.
- Cover the expenses that these volunteers incur when volunteering with us.
- Provide funding for three bespoke events that will be held by these volunteers.
- Recruit more volunteers by producing promotional material.
Volunteering helps people increase their skills, be a part of a community, build their confidence, make a difference, and have fun.
With the grant from Big Lottery Fund, we will be able to grow our volunteering presence in Scotland, meaning more people will be able to help us. This will then mean more Scottish children and young people will be able to have their dreams realised.
