Last blog before the big day
The countdown is on
Brian’s Blog Sunday 15th April 2018
Welcome back to week 11 of ForrestBrian’s DCT Virgin Money London Marathon Blog. Your continued interest is valued and appreciated!
I wonder if anyone decided to take up the 1 mile challenge?
If you forget or still thinking about it … there's always this week!
This weeks main thought is…….taper taper taper week.
It’s agony not being allowed out to run run run!
Surely I need to run more this week? Absolutely not!
The miles are in the running tank.
Only three runs this week - 11k, 7k & 5k - simple easy going through the motions.
Really enjoyed it this week most felt like I had a spring in my step.
Anyway forget about the running spend some time on the Charity Night fundraising!
Friday evening was my main fundraising event - Dreams Come True Charity Night held at The Park Hotel, Caprington Suite, Kilmarnock.
Pulse wedding band entertained everyone until the wee small hours of the following morning.
The Charity Night opened with a welcome from ForrestBrian who then invited guests to watch a 9 minute video from Dreams Come True.
An amazing thought provoking video which was well received and appreciated by those who attended.
Tempting fundraising initiatives on the night included:
- Guess my Marathon finishing time
- Best caption game
- Sweetie Corner
- Whiskey Bottle - roll a coin
- Bottle Raffle
- Main Raffle with 35 amazing prizes
Guests enjoyed participating and dancing the night away to a superb band.
The evening raised a huge amount in excess of £1859.00
The whole evening experience further brought home the reality of young people who are less fortunate and the importance of making sure I give my very best not only for DCT but for everyone who has sponsored or donated.
As I collate this blog the reality is a week to go.
Quite daunting to say the least.
I hope you all have a good week.
