Hamleys Tea Party

The atmosphere was electric with more than 500 people at the party including 220 very excited children who were given the complete run of all seven floors of the largest toy shop in the world.

Sunday 16th June saw a fabulous children's tea party at Hamleys toy shop in London to mark the launch of the first Dream Tea. The atmosphere was electric with more than 500 people at the party including 220 very excited children who were given the complete run of all seven floors of the largest toy shop in the world. A bit of celebrity spice was added from actress Amanda Abbington, tv presenter Lizzie Cundy and our two Dream Tea Ambassadors, Miranda Gore Browne and Liz Brewer.

As one mum said, "The run of a closed toy shop has to be close to the top of every ones dream. We had such a lovely time. And we're so grateful to all involved for the kindness and effort put in."

The day was great fun with magicians, puppet shows, balloon modelling and face painting. 62 children who are currently waiting for their dream each received our new teddy bear, 'Hope', which was kindly donated by Hamleys. We can't wait to see what Hope gets up to as she'll be joining all of the children on their dreams. The party was also the chance to celebrate the winner of the cake competition, 12 year old Lucy West from West Sussex. Her fabulous design was spectacularly brought to life by the people from The Cake Store.

A children's tea party wouldn't be complete without plenty of food and treats and we would like to thank Lexington Catering for supplying all of the food and the Custom Cookie Co. for making a special Dream Tea biscuit.
