Earlier this year, staff and children at Carlisle Infants School hosted a Dream Tea Day to raise money for Dreams Come True.
The children came to school in mufti or dressed up for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. They were invited to take part in a Bake Off and a winner was declared from each year group and one overall winner scooped the Bake Off Crown. The entire school took part writing their own dreams, sandwich making and decorating plates for the afternoon tea party.
A special assembly was held to mark the occasion and to award the Bake Off prizes. Parents and carers were invited to tea and scones in the playground and the many donated cakes were sold. The 280 children tucked into sandwiches and cupcakes baked by teachers and parents.
A pupil in year two, Charlotte Taylor, also won our national drawing competition in the under 8s section.
The school was thrilled to raise over £744.50 for Dreams Come True. Staff were overwhelmed by the support of the parents, carers and children at the school.
