£1 million grant from The Kentown Wizard Foundation

We are thrilled to announce that Dreams Come True has received a £1 million grant from The Kentown Wizard Foundation. This incredible grant will help extend the charity’s reach to seriously ill children and young people in areas of deprivation.

This grant is the first of its kind. Dream Come True’s guiding principle is that the opportunity to have a dream fulfilled should be open to all. This grant will enable the charity to be a truly national organisation.

The Foundation was set up in 2015 by Ken Townsley, founder of the Gold Medal Travel Group, to help children and young adults living with serious, life-limiting conditions and disabilities. Over the last two years, The Kentown Wizard Foundation has generously funded the delivery of over 200 dreams. The Foundation’s support has made a huge difference to the dream recipients, as well as their family, friends and carers.

Margaret Ingram, Chief Executive of The Kentown Wizard Foundation, said: "We are delighted to offer this transformational funding to Dreams Come True. It will enable them to locate very poorly children in the North of England by granting wishes, building confidence and bringing hope to the children that need it most."

Richard Ashton, Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, said:

We look forward to continuing our relationship with The Kentown Wizard Foundation, working together to positively impact the lives of more young people who have life-limiting medical conditions and are living in some of the most deprived and hard-to-reach communities in the country.”
