We first met 21-year-old Lucy Watts when she approached us to help her fulfil a dream in 2011. However, we were so impressed by Lucy's energy and eloquence, that we asked her to become an ambassador for Dreams Come True.

Despite being seriously ill herself, Lucy works with a number of charities to help others in similar situations. She has written a blog about her experiences and has even spoken in parliament.

She also has a very special relationship with her dog Molly and together they won the 'Friends for life' award at Crufts.

Writing and speaking are hobbies that Lucy has have developed since becoming ill and she's putting her skills to great use, by speaking on behalf of Dreams Come True at events.

Lucy is an inspiration for all children and young people living with serious and life-limiting conditions and we are delighted to welcome her to the team.

Lucy said, "I am so pleased to have been asked to become an Ambassador for Dreams Come True because, granting my wish aside, what they do is hugely important."

I have friends whose lives have been brightened and enriched by a wish. It is an honour and a pleasure. I can’t do much for myself anymore but I can write and I can speak and I am trying to make a difference using those abilities."
