It seems like a lifetime since my last update with so much water having flowed under the bridge. All of us at Dreams Come True hope that you, your families and loved ones are remaining safe and well.

I would like to start by thanking each and every one of you for your continued support. Without you there would be no charity and to receive the messages of support, donations and ongoing fundraising activity has been incredibly humbling.

The landscape in which we deliver Dreams and raise much needed funds has fundamentally changed and whilst a semblance of normality is starting to return it will be a long time before all the restrictions are finally lifted.

Covid-19 has and will continue to impact each and every one of us, and our thoughts remain with our amazing Dreams families who have had their Dream delayed and in the vast majority of cases have had to self-isolate for far too long.

We created detailed protocols and procedures to ensure that we have been able to deliver Dreams when it was safe to do so and the lockdown allowed. It is heart breaking that this has been the exception rather than the norm and we look forward to delivering as many Dreams as we can just soon as it is safe to do so.

The plan we implemented at the start of the pandemic in March has stood us in good stead and we remain a strong, impactful and financially secure charity.

The assumptions we made with regards to our losing much needed funds have unfortunately come to fruition with the impact being that we will lose 60% of our annual income due to the vast number of our events and challenges being postponed or cancelled and the wider economic impact of COVID-19.

Our Dreams families inspire us every single day and we have a simple philosophy in that we will continue to look to raise as much money as we can so that we can continue to deliver as many Dreams as possible.

Thank you for your continued support and rest assured all of us at the charity remain positive and absolutely determined to bring a bit of light it some incredible children and young people’s lives by making their Dreams Come True.

Warm regards,

Richard
