Dreams Come True has been selected to receive a £1,000 donation as part of Benefact Group's Movement for Good Awards, which is giving over £1million to charities.

Dreams Come True has supported thousands of children and young people living with a disability, serious illness, or life-limiting condition, bringing moments of magic and delivering lasting impact to not only them, but also their families, friends, carers and communities.

We are the only wish-granting charity that focus solely on children who live in the highest areas of deprivation in the country.

When a child has additional needs, life can be challenging even for families with strong support systems. Due to soaring cost of living the number of children living in deprivation is increasing meaning more and more children will need the support and attention of charities like Dreams Come True.

Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts and winners, including Dreams Come True, were drawn at random.

Lisa King, CEO of Dreams Come True, says:

“We would like to thank Benefact group and their Movement for Good award scheme as well as everyone who took time to nominate us. Like many charities, Dreams Come True was severely affected by the pandemic and this donation will help us deliver our goal of over 130 dreams this year."

"Whether that is a break for a young cancer patient or a specially adapted trike for a child with cerebral palsy, the dream will provide moments of magic and have a lasting impact for children and their families.”

Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, says:

“We would like to thank every single person who took the time to nominate a good cause as part of our Movement for Good Awards. Benefact Group is the fourth largest corporate donor in the UK and has an ambition to be the biggest. Owned by a charity, all of its available profits go to good causes, and the more the group grows, the more the group can give.

As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”

Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
