Bethany and Lewis

Bethany wanted to honour the memory of her brother, Lewis, who died earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. She decided to do a skydive on what would have been Lewis's 21st birthday this year and at the same time overcome her fear of flying and heights.

Bethany went on to say: For anyone who knows me, you will know I am terrified of flying and heights, something Lewis always found hilarious whenever we went on our holidays. He would always tell me to 'man up', so that is exactly what I am going to do for him to celebrate Lewis turning 21 years old.

Lewis's life was all about holidays, having the best time and living his life to the full. Over the past 4 years, Lew battled stage 4 cancer 3 times but this never stopped him from having a smile on his face and doing what he wanted to do - enjoy himself!

I have chosen to raise money for Dreams Come True. A charity, whose mission, to bring joy to terminally and seriously ill children and young adults by making their treasured dreams come true! Dreams Come True became involved with Lewis last year. Lewis, for such a long time,  had always wanted to go to Australia to see his closest friend and after seeing Lewis's inspirational journey, this charity arranged and paid for Lewis to travel to Australia for 4 weeks last summer. Something he was 'absolutely buzzing' for.

Sadly, Lewis relapsed and never made it to Australia but it was an adventure that he so looked forward to and it kept him going through some of his toughest times. Never giving up hope that he would make it there.

I am doing this jump to help raise funds for other children and young people to be given the chance to do something they have always dreamt of doing while going through the toughest times of their life.

I would ask everyone who is reading this to considering taking part in a fundraising event such as a skydive or making a £5 donation via text to 70660 so that Dreams Come True can help make more dreams come true.

Lewis is my inspiration and I am so proud to be his sister!
