Ayham is 13 years old and is living with Autism. He is almost completely non-verbal and communicates using an electronic augmented alternative communication system and by using physical gestures.

Ayham emits vocal approximations of words but can only be understood by those who know him well. He can become frustrated when others can’t understand his needs.

He’s an active boy who likes to be busy, Ayham particularly likes to socialise and be around people, everyone loves him. He enjoys communicating with his friends and family in his own way. 

As part of his additional needs, Ayham has had weight gain which then affects his health in other ways, this is then difficult for him to manage. This was made worse over lockdown when he was unable to go out regularly to exercise. 

Ayham’s mum thinks having his own trike will be a great way for him to exercise and still enjoy his time outside. He can’t balance on his own, so an adapted trike would be perfect for him. This will give Ayham even more of a reason to visit his favourite place, the park!
